"Paper Heart" Creators to Reteam for Children's Book Set in Rio De Janiero, Home of the 2016 Olympics

Author Alex Beene and photographer Josh Sells will collaborate again to produce a new children's book in 2016 set in Rio de Janeiro, home to the 2016 Olympic Games.

The creators of the popular children's book "The Journey of the Paper Heart" will reteam for a new project set in Rio de Janeiro, home of the 2016 Olympic Games. Author Alex Beene and photographer Josh Sells will collaborate once again on a new project that explores themes similar to the ones detailed in their first publication.

"Rio is a stunningly beautiful city, perhaps the most spectacular in the world," Beene said. "It's the perfect backdrop for our next book, which is going to explore themes of what it means to be 'beautiful' and to be accepted in modern society. Appearance vs. reality is a huge issue in our new digital world. We want to capture that."

Photography for the book will take place in spring 2016, with the expected publication date being in late summer of the same year. The creators hope to have their latest book released in time for the Summer Olympic Games, scheduled to occur in the city next August. Emily Weatherington, who acted as lead designer for the duo's first book, will return, as well.

"With the Olympics being set there (Rio) next summer, we want to capitalize on that excitement that will undoubtedly surrounding the city then," Beene said.
